The rules for using CoBuy Car to join a buying pool, book a new car and pay.
Who we are
CoBuy Car ("CoBuy", "we") runs cobuycar.com, operated by CoBuy Car, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. You can reach us at hello@cobuycar.com or on WhatsApp at +91 84316 35120.
What CoBuy does
CoBuy groups buyers who want the same new car in Bengaluru into a pool. Authorised dealers for that brand send sealed bids for the pool, and we send each buyer one final on-road price.
CoBuy is not a car dealer. The dealer you book with sells, invoices, registers and delivers the car, and gives the manufacturer's warranty. Insurance quotes come through a licensed insurance intermediary, and loans are offered and decided by banks or lenders, not by CoBuy.
We don't promise any particular discount. The final price depends on dealers' bids, stock and the number of buyers in the pool.
Your account and mobile number
- You sign in with a mobile number and a one-time code sent on WhatsApp. Use a number that is yours, and keep codes private.
- You must be 18 or older to join a pool or book a car.
- The details you give (car, variant, colour, exchange car, choices on your order) must be accurate. Some bids depend on them.
The refundable advance
- To hold your place in a pool you pay a refundable advance of ₹4,999 through our payment partner, Razorpay.
- If you book, the advance is adjusted in your car's price. If you don't book, for any reason, it is refunded in full. See the Refund policy.
Your final price and booking
- After the bids, we show your itemised final price in My orders and tell you on WhatsApp. It is valid until the date shown.
- You choose insurance (a quote we pass on, or your own policy), a loan (a partner bank, your own bank, or none) and any optional extras before you book.
- Booking is your decision. When you book, we share your name and mobile number with the dealer, and with the bank you chose if you asked to be contacted about a loan.
- The dealer issues the invoice in your name. Registration, road tax and other government charges are paid to the authorities through the dealer.
Paying the rest
You can pay the balance through CoBuy where we offer it, or straight to the dealer and record the payment in My orders. If you take a loan, the bank pays the dealer. Keep the bank reference for any payment you make to a dealer.
If a dealer changes the price or delays delivery
Every dealer agrees to hold its winning price for buyers who book within the offer period. If the dealer raises the price after you book, you can cancel and get back everything you paid through CoBuy. Delivery dates are the dealer's commitment; we follow up with the dealer on your behalf and show every step in My orders.
Dealers
Dealers who use the bid room agree to CoBuy's dealer terms in the bid room, including selling only the car, passing on the agreed price, and paying CoBuy's dealer fee for bookings made through CoBuy.
Things you must not do
Don't misuse the site: no false requests, no using someone else's number, no attempts to break, overload or copy the site or its data, and no automated sign-ups.
Our responsibility
We take care to run the pools and pass on prices accurately. We are not responsible for the car itself, its delivery, the dealer's or manufacturer's warranty, an insurer's decisions or a lender's decisions; those are between you and them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that can't be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes don't affect an order you have already booked.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to fix any problem. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission.
